Regnskog(2010)
a Collaborative Workshop/Performance/Installation in the Spirit of David Tudor.
“Rainforest” used a series of transducers to play prerecorded and live sounds through various resonant metal objects suspended by wires in the performance space. It was also conceived as a workshop, involving different musicians and artists in a collaborative setting, each contributing their own sounds, ideas and energies to the performances, which often lasted four or five hours! A complex mixer system allowed the sounds coming from one resonant object to be directed through another, spawning chaotic generations of new sound patterns. The sounds played could be heard through loudspeakers as well as the objects themselves, however they could also be physically felt by touching the objects. Tudor was especially interested in two audiences: children and the blind.
“Regnskog” is conceived as a contemporary re-interpretation of “Rainforest” as a workshop, performance and public installation. In the spirit of Tudor’s work, much of the equipment and materials will be built by the participants/performers themselves.

Psychoid (2010)
Locating hallucinations in the brain; the psyche observing itself; cut-up reality. Psychoid uses home built, hacked up electronics, excessive wires, darkness and stroboscopic light to create a reality shifting installation.

The London Psychogeophysics Summit (2010)

The London Psychogeophysics Summit proposes an intense week-long, city-wide series of walks, fieldtrips, river drifts, open workshops and discussions exploring the novel interdisciplinary frame of psychogeophysics, colliding psychogeographics with earth science measurements and study (fictions of forensics and geophysical archaeology).
Open events include practical workshops in building simple geophysical measurement devices from scrap materials, fieldtrips for study and long-term use of such devices in the city, measurement and mapping of physical and geophysical data during city-wide walks, deployment of strategic underground networks, fusion of fiction, derive and signal excursion, studies of river signal ecologies alongside short lectures and discussions of broad, interdisciplinary psychogeophysical themes.

Knowledge of The Hidden (2010)
(An event I organised at Barbican Centre, London, focusing on paranormal and occult art)
Hallucinations, Visions, and Mind Control
Members of the public are invited to wear Ryan Jordans' home built hallucination goggles. Placing these over their eyes they will expose themselves to strobe lighting which they can tune and control to adjust the frequency until they find themselves in a trance or hallucinating. While this is taking place Dr. Mick Grierson will have attached to their skulls an EEG device which will read the brain states of possessed individuals. Their brain waves will control Dr. Griersons' carefully constructed noise films and synthesis.

useless/useful (2010)
useless/useful participatory fashion exhibition/performance/installation.
I made the interactive sensors and sound design on Cristina Tso's garments using Arduino, IR sensors, pressure sensors, and Pure Data for the sound. As she moved in the space and also brushed the costume, sounds emerged.

ChaosLab (2009)
Collaborative installation/workshop/performance.
Chaotic systems & indeterminacy. Chaoslab creates sensitive dependence on initial conditions, devices and inputs by having evolution through phase space (installation/workshop within a place) that appears to be quite random. Our Chaotic models seem to be deployed to ascertain various kinds of activities related to bifurcation points (uncontrolled steps of evolution within the workshop), period doubling sequences (or should we said multiple sequences), the onset of chaotic dynamics proposed by the participants, the strange attractors between sources, filters, amplifications, connections and other denizens of the chaos zoo of hacked behaviours.

Rainforest IV(2009)
A re-interpretation of David Tudor's Rainforest IV.
“a collaborative environmental work, spatially mixing the live sounds of suspended sculptures and found objects, with their transformed reflections in an audio system".

Sensory Deprivation (2009)
Held at the first Kinetica Art Fair, Sensory Deprivation was an experiment using Sensory Response Systems. I would sit with my head covered for as long as I felt and perform without much sleep or food.
