decrystallization w/Jonathan Kemp (2011)
If life starts from aperiodic crystals that encode infinite futures within a small number of atoms, then the digital crystallization of the flesh by capital limits futures to the point of exhaustion. The workshop begins from the premise that the decrystallization of the digital through positive feedback disrupts and escalates entropy through such systems. Mindful that such activities can also be used to consolidate capital through the use of stolen negentropic energies, the 2nd day of the workshop will investigate the re-vivification of computation's raw minerals through mutation and irregular assemblage by participants.
School Of Meat Cutting Workshops w/Andy Bolus (2011)
A workshop in low life circuit bending, blasting, and building. Using the circuits from various electronic detritus and building your own circuitry, you will learn to create and construct psychotic synthesisers and noise machines. In the workshop you will use raw flesh or rotting meat as a resistor (vegan Tofu option available) for the creation of hybrid and mutated noise machines for use in live performances.
Psychedelic 555 Toilet Roll Goggles (2010)
This workshop introduces the participant to D.i.Y hardware hacking and stroboscopic light. The workshop focuses on building simple hardware synths from 555 timer circuits and CMOS4093 chips. These electronic noise machines can also control lights and the workshop will focus specifically on stroboscopic light.
The participants then build there own stroboscopic goggles, similar to those used in medical EEG tests, which also can be hooked directly into a sound system to create your own personal hallucinogenic flickering noise machine.
